What's the Best Home Décor Accessory?

'What's the best home décor accessory?' It's kind of a silly question, isn't it? When you think of all of the accessories you can add to a home – pillows and throws, baskets and boxes, artwork and sculpture, light fixtures and accent furniture – how could you possibly pick just one? But, along with other topics such as which shade of white is the absolute best, these are the kinds of questions interior designers ponder.

If we were headed to a deserted island and had to choose just one type of home accessory, it would be glass. Think of all the things which are rendered in glass: Stemware and serving pieces; light fixtures and candle holders; artful objects and household necessities. And consider its limitless looks: Clear or colored; weighty or paper thin; translucent or almost opaque; brushed or polished. Glass really is the clear winner.
